This Baco Noir has intense, dark black berry, black cherry and currant flavours. It is deep, inky purple in colour, and has rich, full flavours, berry aromas and a soft, smooth, fruity finish. It is matched with red meats, especially lamb and ham, game birds, rich pastas, firm cheeses and rich, dark chocolate desserts. |
Named after its breeder, this grape is a St. Laurent - Blaufränkisch cross. The wine produced is similar to Pinot Noir - Shiraz, being a lighter, dry red wine, with good acidity, soft tannins, and cherry/clove flavours. It has a persistent, pepper and plum finish, and is dark ruby in colour. |
